Iowa Northern Railway Company is headquartered in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. It also has offices, repair and maintenance shops and yard facilities in Manly, Greene, and Waterloo. Iowa Northern Railway Company was formed in 1984 following the liquidation of the assets of the Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific Railroad Company. The line runs diagonally through Iowa northwest to southeast from Manly to Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The Hawkeye Express, which began operating in September 2006, is a part of the Iowa Northern family of companies. The Hawkeye Express is primarily used to move fans between Historic Kinnick Stadium and satellite parking areas during Iowa Hawkeye home football games.
