According to my 7 year old daughter "I would give it one hundred million thousand stars.". My 6 year old son.. "I was thinking.... should we live at that hotel?" Great balance of things for kids and adults. So welcoming and safe. The theme is fantastic and seamless check in and check out via phone! Food is amazing, bar is beautiful. We stayed up playing pictionary on a huge dry erase board in the lounge. The pool has a large 2 feet 6inch swimming space that goes to 3 feet then a rope to deeper side. Ping pong hot tub and more. We are already planning our next trip :)

The Highlander is amazing! Easily the best hotel experience we've had in years. Beautiful style, comfortable beds, and great pool/courtyard area. Also a very nice bar that would be great to visit even if we weren't guests.There was an unexpected change to our booking and amenities, and the team at Highlander offered us free food and drinks for our entire stay to make up for it! I've never had that generous of an offer from any other hotel chain. We will definitely be back the next time we're in Iowa City!

Highly recommended. Very unique hotel. Excellent service with comfortable amenities. Fantastic pool and hot tub. Fun extras like a record player and an extensive vinyl collection available to check out for your stay.

This was the most amazing hotel I have stayed in for a long time! Every person there was extremely friendly and outgoing. Everything was clean and neatly organized. We will be back for sure!

Room was nice, great atmosphere. The pool and hot tub area is amazing. Helpful and friendly staff, they even shipped an item I forgot. Would definitely stay again!
