Coralville's Old Town Hall is a brick structure built by pioneer residents in the 1880s. Built as a church, town hall, and community gathering space, the building has been the site of meetings, church services, social events, businesses, and at one time housed the town jail. It has been saved from demolition twice. In May 2014, Old Town Hall was physically moved to 407 5th Street. It underwent repairs and renewal, and in spring 2016 reopened. It is owned by the City of Coralville and available to rent through a partnership with the Johnson County Historical Society. Old Town Hall is available to rent for small gatherings of 30 to 40 people. Tables and chairs are included with the rental, and a kitchenette equipped with a refrigerator and microwave are available for an additional fee.
