Parkinson’s disease is a slowly progressive neurological condition that affects more than a million people in the United States. Approximately 60,000 people are newly diagnosed each year. There is currently no cure for the disease. Exercise is an important part of healthy living for everyone, however, for people with Parkinson’s disease (PD) exercise is not only healthy, but a vital component to maintaining balance, mobility and daily living activities, along with a potential neuroprotective effect.
In recognition of Parkinson’s Awareness Month, join us to learn about the different types of exercise for PD, and how exercise and movement is helping people live better lives. Instructor: Kris Cameron
