The Eastern Iowa Model Yacht Club holds regular radio-controlled model sailboat races every other Sunday at Liberty Centre pond in North Liberty. The next race is scheduled for July 8, 1:30 p.m. at the pond, which is located one block west of Highway 965 on Cherry Street.
Racers are members of the Eastern Iowa Model Yacht Club who race five-foot-tall CR-914 class model sailboats. The boats are operated from shore by transmitters which allow the sailors to control only the rudder and position of the sails.
Here is the schedule for Liberty Centre pond for the remainder of the season. All of these Sunday races begin at 1:30 p.m.:
July 8, 22
August 5, 19
