French Film in the Brinton Collection

Back to Previous

Michael Zahs, star of the recent documentary Saving Brinton, will speak about early French film and its impact in the United States. In 1981, Zahs, who hails from a long-time Iowa farm family, obtained a collection of early film materials that belonged to Frank and Indiana Brinton of Washington, Iowa. Since that time, he has made it his mission to preserve, protect, and present this rare and important cache of early films, which includes some of the oldest moving pictures in the world. Admission is free, but space is limited.
