Watch an outdoor viewing of Minari!

FilmScene and proudly announces FilmScene in the Park, an outdoor cinema built in partnership with the Iowa City Parks and Recreation Department located at Chauncey Swan Park. The inaugural season of curated programming will include five acclaimed films from the last year and six family-friendly selections in partnership with the Summer of the Arts Free Movie Series.

Admission is free and open to the public. Seating will be first-come-first-served for all screenings, with movies beginning at sunset. Health and safety protocols will be in place including social distancing aided by painted markers on the lawn. The city-wide mask mandate will be enforced when moviegoers are not eating or drinking.

A tender and sweeping story about what roots us, Minari follows a Korean-American family that moves into an Arkansas farm in search of their own American Dream. The family home changes completely with the arrival of their sly, foul-mouthed, but incredibly loving grandmother. Amidst the instability and challenges of this new life in the rugged Ozarks, Minari shows the undeniable resilience of family and what really makes a home.
