Mercy is pleased to welcome speaker Scott Koepke, Education Director for Grow Johnson County in the McAuley Room 2, Mercy Medical Plaza. The topic of the discussion is Feeding Soil, Feeding Souls: The Garden Bridge of Healing.

Grow Johnson County is a collaborative hunger-relief and food gardening education project taking place on two acres of the historic Johnson County Poor Farm. In 2016, Grow: Johnson County grew and donated 12,000 pounds of fruits and vegetables to supply local hunger relief agencies with plans to produce 20,000 pounds in 2017. Community and staff members are invited to attend this program that will provide a unique perspective on the healing aspects of growing food.
